Cary Grove Chamber Crowns 2013 Miss Cary And Miss Fox River Grove in Business Scholarship Pageant

The Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce crowned the new 2013 Miss Cary and 2013 Miss Fox River Grove title winners at their Business Scholarship Pageant on Saturday, May 18 at Cary-Grove High School.  The Chamber’s Business Scholarship Pageant is sponsored by True Value Manufacturing and Wickstrom Auto Group. Both title holders received $1,000 scholarships from the Chamber. 2013 Miss Cary Kelly Kaveney is the daughter of Patrick and Nancy Kaveney. 2013 Miss Fox River Grove Claire Roehri is the daughter of Paul and Betsy Roehri.

Other Pageant winners included Emma Krupp, Miss Cary 1st Runner Up, who won a $250 scholarship, and Abbey Loch, Miss Cary 2nd Runner Up, who won a $100 scholarship, and Kortney Geegan, Miss Fox River Grove 1st Runner Up, who won a $250 scholarship.   Kelly Kaveney was also voted Miss Photogenic, and Kortney Geegan was voted Miss Congeniality by the other Pageant contestants.

Contestants competing in the pageant this year for the title of Miss Cary and Miss Fox River Grove were Abigail Loch sponsored by Malooley Chiropractic, Brooke Witkins sponsored by Cary Grove Dental, Claire Roehri sponsored by Brunch Café, Emma Krupp sponsored by Leo Pontano Professional Painting, Inc.,Gabbie Burlingame sponsored by Sage Products, Inc.,Katherine Heckel sponsored by WG Salon, Kelly Kaveney sponsored by Modern Wave Salon and Spa, Kortney Geegan sponsored by Wickstrom Auto Group, Peyton Taylor sponsored by LuLu's Wiggin Out and Sabrina Tish sponsored by Cary Travel Express.The process leading up to the Miss Cary Miss Fox River Grove Pageant is designed to provide the contestants with valuable communication and speaking skills and knowledge about local business.  The contestants are formally introduced to the business community and area leaders, get involved in community service, and are trained in speaking and presentation skills. The evening of the pageant the contestants participate in an evening gown competition, an interview session and give a live presentation on their business sponsor.  The Pageant Committee consisted of Lisa Raupp of Mary Kay Cosmetics, Sandra Nies of BMO Harris Cary and Fox River Grove, Shane Hammerschmidt of SERVPRO of Southern McHenry County and Ellen McAlpine of Envoy Mortgage Corp.
