Nearly 70 local business, community and governmental leaders attended the Cary Business Roundtable hosted by the Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, January 16, where Cary Mayor Tom Kierna gave a "State of the Community" Address. The Mayor noted a number of new businesses that have opened in the community throughout the year, the addition of new free downtown parking for patrons visiting the downtown businesses, and other village updates and improvements. The Village also introduced a new Director of Community and Economic Development, Chris Stilling. During the event the Chamber presented Mayor Kierna with a Leadership Award, and the Cary Fire Protection District with a tribute poster honoring their 100 year Anniversary.
