Sixth Consecutive Year District 155 Named to 8th Annual AP® District Honor Roll

The College Board named Community High School District 155 to the 8th Annual
AP® Honor Roll for increasing access to Advanced Placement® courses for
students while maintaining or improving scores on the AP® exam. Students must
earn a 3 or higher. The honor roll includes 447 school districts nationwide and
Canada. This is the sixth consecutive year D155 has been named. Only 23 school
    districts in Illinois were recognized.
“For the last six years, we have identified more students to enroll in an Advanced
Placement® course and our achievement rate has not changed. Students
continue to earn a 3 or higher on their AP exams, which is the result of
exceptional teaching practices,” said Steve Olson, interim superintendent.
“Regardless of the course, we want our students to be challenged so they can be
better prepared for life after high school.”
During the 2016-17 school year, nearly 37 percent of students completed one
AP® course. District 155 offers 29 AP® courses in eight subject areas. Students
    took 3,568 AP® exams and 79 percent received a 3, 4 or 5.
